The Tennessee Valley Authority soon will replace the private security company that has protected its nuclear plants for the past 11 years and brought nearly 500 security officers to the TVA payroll, according to an employee memo released Monday.
The KwaZulu-Natal government on Thursday began renovating the provincial guest house in Assagay, which King Goodwill Zwelithini refused to use for security reasons.
As a result of an evaluation that has been underway since late last year, TVA's Nuclear Power Group (NPG) discontinue the use of security-contract services and will assume all aspects of nuclear-security functions during fiscal year 2009, officials said.
